Jaroslav Vajda's well-known text is supported well by John Leavitt's setting that begins with voices only. The keyboard accompaniment (perhaps best for organ) enters at the end of stanza 1 and continues throughout the piece in either an independent or supporting role. This setting will find many uses within the life of the congregation, most especially at the end of the rite of Confirmation.
