Silvius Leopold Weiss was born on October 12, 1687, in Grottkau (near Breslau). He was the most prolific composer of lute music in history (he wrote approximately 600 pieces for the lute) , as well as one of the best- known and most technically-accomplished lutenists of his day. Silvius Leopold Weiss died in Dresden, on October 16, 1750.Complete Works for Lute in Tabulature and Transcription (Volume 4: The London Manuscript, British Library Add. 30387; transcription of the tabulature Part II).
