Albert Oliver Davis utilizes familiar French melodies to craft a suite of charm, grace, and spirit. Some of the songs include 'Chevaliers de la table ronde (Knights of the Round Table)', 'Au claire de la lune (In the Moonlight or Good Pierrot)', and 'La Marseillaise (The War Song of the Rhine Army)'. Keys and rhythms are well within the reach of younger bands. All three clarinet parts briefly play divisi in the opening movement of the suite.
