This exciting new musical utilizes the universal appeal of a box of crayons as the basis for teaching some valuable lessons about human relationships. The characters become life-sized crayons who explore the difficulties which arise when they must work together to complete the day's task of coloring another page in the coloring book. Six delightful Unison/two-part songs, including COLORING BOOK, COWBOY BLUES, and COMPLIMENTARY, are upbeat and easily learned! Costumes, props and sets can be kept simple and easy! This show is both versatile and flexible, especially concerning cast size and its appeal to several grade levels. Although the tone of this production is light-hearted and entertaining, both performers and audience learn about such issues as prejudice, expressing one's feelings, cooperation, and taking a positive approach. The new, definitive edition of the choral masterwork edited by Dr. Elmer Thomas of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. As with his extremely successful and widely acclaimed edition of Vivaldi's "Gloria," Dr. Thomas has carefully preserved the composer's originalmarkings, while judiciously adding his own clearly indicated performance suggestions. The result is a scholarly, clean, and eminently usable edition of one of the more accessible masterworks. Another outstanding feature of this series of choral masterworks is the professionally produced orchestral accompaniment tape. This will serve you well if budget or space restrictions prohibit the use of a full orchestra. The orchestral parts and conductor's score are available for purchase, however, in a fully engraved and printed format. Hard-to-read and oft-erased rented manuscripts are gone forever! Performance time: approximately 30 minutes. Return Policy Exception: This product can not be returned. But it can be exchanged if defective, for the exact same title.

Covering a span of time and styles ranging from jazz beginnings to some of the most recent developments, this book collects and analyzes many of the most frequently used jazz, blues, and Latin jazz left-hand piano techniques. Generally, each proposed technique is first introduced by a "model" figure derived from original sources, followed by an explanation of its pattern, and finally by some sample applications using well-known songs, harmonic progressions, or original pieces. For the sake of completeness, most of these left-hand applications are integrated with sample right-hand parts that validate the efficacy and concrete application of the left hand figures. Numerous styles of jazz piano are taught, including: stride piano, Latin stylings, blues, boogie, swing, walking bass, jazz waltz, rootless voicings and many other concepts. Characteristics of jazz legends including Erroll Garner, Jelly Roll Morton, Earl Hines, George Gershwin, Fats Waller, Eubie Blake and many others are explored. As with all books in this series, it includes a unique lay-flat binding to help keep the music open on the music stand.

Johann Sebastian Bach, in addition to writing many 4-part chorales in his cantatas and other sacred works, also harmonized many well-known hymns, which were undoubtedly used in his church services. His son, Carl Phillip Emmanuel, collected this chorales, discovering over three hundred among his father's works. The two chorales featured in this arrangement are Break Forth, O Beauteous Heav'nly Light and In Dulce Jublio. These two chorales teach students to pull the bow slower and to build musicality by following the dynamics and articulations. The chorales could be played in church by a small string ensemble, introducing string music to an entirely different audience. Your students will enhance their church services while broadening the orchestra's community support base.
