Publication of the fourth and last book in the “Iberia” cycle in Henle Urtext coincides perfectly with the 150th anniversary Isaac Albeniz's birth.
Albéniz had greatly struggled to complete the work because he was very ill. Yet he was able to hand over all of the twelve pieces he had promised to the pianist Joaquin with whom he was friends.
Following the sensuous dance rhythms in “Málaga” and the cheerful and lively “Eritaña”, he succeeded in creating a striking musical portrait of the famous Spanish wine-growing region with “Jerez”. “Music has never achieved such a diverse and colourful form,” was the judgement passed on Albéniz’ late Romantic masterpiece by none other than Claude Debussy.

Nineteenth-century Europe's immersion into Romanticism fostered a "back to nature" movement in which artists turned toward folk music for inspiration. This collection spotlights the works of important Russian composers who drew upon and popularized folk melodies of their native country. Forty-four stirring pieces reflect the influence of Russia's peasant songs as well as the tonality and rhythms of music from the Russo-Greek Orthodox Church and Tartar culture. Suitable for intermediate-level pianists of all ages, this collection features contributions from Michael Glinka, hailed a century ago as "the father of Russian musical art." Additional contributors include Alexander Borodin, Modest Mussorgsky, Nikolas Rimsky-Korsakov, Alexander Scriabin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and other composers. Reprint of the Carl Fischer, New York, 1915 edition.

Famous for his fiery, forceful, and passionate playing, Spanish violinist Pablo de Sarasate (1844–1908) was equally renowned for the sweetness and purity of his tone and his impeccable technique. His works are steeped in the colorful traditions of his native land, drawing upon Spanish airs and dances to display the depth and richness of the violin's capabilities. This practice and performance edition with a separate, removable violin part contains three of the composer's best and most challenging pieces for violin and piano: Zigeunerweisen (Gypsy Airs); Carmen Fantasy, Op. 25, based on the opera by George Bizet; and the exhilarating Introduction and Tarantella. Reproduced from authoritative editions, these works are essential to the repertoire of all serious violinists.

This volume contains all of Beethoven’s surviving cadenzas and lead-ins for Piano concertos: both for his own concertos nos. 1–4, for his Piano arrangement of the Violin Concerto op. 61 as well as for Mozart’s Concerto in d minor K. 466. They were in all probability not intended for his own use, as Beethoven’s improvisatory skills were legendary. His pupil and patron Archduke Rudolph of Austria, in whose library the unpublished autographs were kept for decades during the composer’s lifetime, might well have prompted him to do so. This Henle edition contains the musical text of the Beethoven Complete Edition that has been put into a new order and updated.Piano Concerto no. 1 in C major op. 15: first cadenza 1st movement Piano Concerto no. 2 in B flat major op. 19: cadenza 1st movement Piano Concerto no. 3 in C minor op. 37: cadenza 1st movement Piano Concerto no. 4 G major op. 58: first cadenza 1st movement Piano Transcription of the Violin concerto in D major op. 61a: cadenza 1st movement Piano Transcription of the Violin concerto D major op. 61a: Transition: 2nd to 3rd movement Piano Transcription of the Violin concerto in D major op. 61a: first cadenza 3rd movement Piano Concerto in d minor K. 466 by W.A. The Six Sonatas for Piano K. 26–31 that can also have a violin accompaniment were composed in The Hague. They were published in 1766 and were dedicated to Princess Caroline von Nassau-Weilburg. These jewels by the “Wunderkind” Mozart have only been known in the form of Violin sonatas up to now (also see Henle Urtext edition HN 1079). Henle's edition for solo Piano, the first time it has ever been printed in this form, is now available for Piano teachers to make use of in their lessons, as well as for all lovers of Mozart.
