The Exodus Song (SATB, TTBB, Solo). By Gold / Boone. Arranged by Johan De Meij. For Fanfare Band. Arrangements of Modern Light Music / Band with (Solo) Voice / Film. Movie and Musical. Grade 3. Score and Parts. Duration 4 minutes, 16 seconds. Published by Molenaar Edition (ML.022069060). The movie picture 'Exodus' by film director Otto Preminger with Paul Newman in the cast is based on a novel with the same title by Leon Uris. The title-song (with lyrics by Pat Boone) survived the film, as is often the case, and has been performed by great artists and has also been arranged several times. This arrangement by Johan de Meij can be performed as well instrumentally, as with a singer, with a mixed choir or a male choir. The arrangement has been dedicated to the famous baritone singer Marco Bakker, who promotes singing with band accompaniment. It was also for this singer that Johan de Meij arranged songs from 'South Pacific' ('Some enchanted evening' and 'This nearly was mine') and from 'Porgy and Bess' ('It ain't necessarily so' and 'Ain't got plenty o' nuttin').

Film Music, Solo piece, Vocal. Grade 3. Score and set of parts. Duration 3:30. Published by Scomegna Edizioni Musical srl (S4.ESB1057). Cab Calloway's Minnie the Moocher owes its current renown to the film The Blues Brothers. When performing the song, Calloway called on the audience to repeat each sentence in a sort of pitch and reply style. However, the phrases that the audience was asked to repeat were often so complicated they were unable to repeat them correctly and simply burst into laughter. This particular arrangement can be performed either with a singer or simply as an instrumental version. The two versions are sold together. Audience involvement is also optional.
