Five or Less Vol I. (A Handbook for Five Players or Less). By Bob Burroughs. For handbells (2-3 octaves). Handbell Collection. Christmas, Eastertide, General. Book. Published by Triune Music Inc (LO.HB192). The selections in this collection are designed to be rung by five players or less, depending upon the abilities of the players and the distribution of the handbells. There are times when a director could gather four or five ringers and with one or two short rehearsals, pull off a handbell performance with materials designed for this number of players. FIVE OR LESS is the answer. And . . . there are some churches that do not have enough ringers to ring two full octaves of handbells, but have four or five ringers who want to ring and are not being used because no literature is available for so few ringers. FIVE OR LESS is the answer. The arrangements are simple, and designed to be done in a minimum of rehearsal time. The best to you, as you ring with FIVE OR LESS.

Five or Less Vol II by Bob Burroughs. For handbells (2-3 octaves). Handbell Collection. Christmas, General. Book. Published by Triune Music Inc (LO.HB219). Many times, composers and arrangers write and arrange out of "self-defense"; that is, they write for specific reasons when materials that meet their needs are not available in published form. That is where "Five Or Less, Vol. 2" comes into the picture. When the first volume of this series was published a couple of years ago it struck a chord (no pun intended) with many handbell ringers who wanted to ring in smaller groups, but could not find music suitable for "just a few ringers. "Five Or Less, Vol. 1" offered ten easy arrangements and original pieces for five ringers or less, depending on their individual abilities. Volume 2 also features ten arrangements and original pieces, but there is more variety in the ringing assignments (one solo piece, two duets, one trio piece, three for quartet and four for quintet), and the music itself is somewhat more challenging.
