Song of Praise Op.52 by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn (1809-1847). Edited by Cornelis. For SST Soli, SATB Chorus, [2.2.2.2-4.2.3.0], Timpani, Organ, Strings. Op.52 (Text Language: German). Choral. Piano/Vocal Score. Published by Edition Peters (PE.P01750). Lobgesang was written for the 400th anniversary of the invention of moveable type by Johannes Gutenberg, an event celebrated in Leipzig in the Summer of 1840. The work unites some of Mendelssohn's most pressing compositional concerns: to bring the Church and the concert hall one step closer together as he felt had already been accomplished in England; and, at the same time, to give expression to his didactic and educational impetus while creating a novel genre transcending conventional boundaries.from Symphony No. 2 (Piano/Vocal Score; German).

St. Paul by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn (1809-1847). Edited by Dorffel. For SATB Soli, SATB Chorus, [2.2.2.2 Contrabassoon-4.2.3.1], Timpani, Organ, Strings. Choral. Vocal Score. Text Language: English/German. Published by Edition Peters (PE.P01748). With Text Language: English/German. Choral. For his Oratorio Mendelssohn made a discreet selection from St. Paul's eventful life as recounted in the acts of the Apostles. The story begins with the stoning of St. Steven by the Jews, and continues through his miraculous conversion to the scene in Lystra, where Paul himself is nearly martyred by stoning, and his farewell in Miletus. Hardly any Oratorio of the Romantic period, could match St. Paul in popularity. Only years later was it overtaken in the public esteem my Mendlessohn's Elijah. In the first two years following its premiere performance it was performed in over fifty German cities, in many European capitals and the United States.

Adagio No.2 from Symphony No.3 by Anton Bruckner (1824-1896). Edited by Nowak. Contemporary Large Ensemble/Orchestra. For [2.2.2.2-4.3.3.0], Timpani, Strings. This edition: Urtext. Contemporary. It was when examining material used at the first performance of the Third, in the archive of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde that Leopold Nowak brought to light an intermediate version of the symphony's slow movement. As compared with the first version, it has lengthened periods but also a number of shortenings and changes in instrumentation; the composer furthermore enriched the Wagner quotations with a motif reminiscent of Tannhauser.Study score.

Symphony in F Minor "Student Symphony" by Anton Bruckner (1824-1896). Edited by Nowak. Contemporary Large Ensemble/Orchestra. For [2.2.2.2-4.2.3.0], Timpani, Strings. This edition: Urtext. Contemporary. Study Score. Composed Composed: 1863. Duration 42 minutes. Published by Bruckner Verlag (PE.BR0055). ISBN 979-0-50025-017-3. Contemporary. Much about the work betrays the style of the times, but Bruckner's own mode of expression can already be recognized in a number of other traits. The composer's teacher, Otto Kitzler, wrote the work off as not particularly inspired" which was why Bruckner laid it aside. Fortunately, however, he did not destroy it when later screening his manuscripts. "--editor Leopold NowakStudy score.

The first complete performance of Bruckner's Eighth Symphony in 1887 version took place in London on 2 September 1973 under the baton of Hans-Hubert Schonzeler.Study score (revised edition 1992).

Symphony No.6 in A Major by Anton Bruckner (1824-1896). Edited by Nowak. Contemporary Large Ensemble/Orchestra. For [2.2.2.2-4.3.3.1], Timpani, Strings. Contemporary. Study score. Composed Composed: 1881. Duration 60 minutes. Published by Bruckner Verlag (PE.BR0006). ISBN 979-0-50025-163-7. Contemporary. The differences between Bruckner's autograph and the first printed edition of 1899 are a graphic demonstration of what drastic changes were made for the sake of bringing Bruckner's music into step with the orchestral sound prevalent at the time. The critical report is evidence of the intensity with which, throughout his life, Bruckner devoted himself to giving his works their final form and shape, paying attention to even the smallest details as he forged the musical texts which he intended to be binding for posterity.Study score (revised edition 1997).
