The Moderne is an electric guitar designed by Gibson in 1957 alongside the Flying V and Explorer as part of a stylistically advanced line. Sources claim that Gibson made a handful of prototypes, but an original has yet to surface. The Moderne was eventually put into production in 1982. Because of their very limited production and forward design, Modernes are highly sought by collectors. Here is the story, explained in interviews and photos, of this curious development associated with the golden era of guitar making.

Guitar Artistry of Paul Geremia DVD. (Six & Twelve String Blues). By Paul Geremia. For Guitar (Fingerpicking). Concert/Documentary. Vestapol. Blues. DVD. Duration 100 minutes. Published by Grossman's Guitar Workshop (MB.13109DVD). Paul Geremia is possibly the greatest living performer of the East Coast and Texas fingerpicking and slide styles. He has been called a national treasure. John Hammond says that he'd drive a thousand miles to see Paul play. When Paul plays Leadbelly, you can close your eyes and swear that it is Leadbelly himself. These are just a few of the comments that critics and musicians have said about him. Maybe one of the reasons is that for the past 40 years, Paul has not only played the blues, but he's lived them as well; traveling across the country in an old beat-up car and crashing on friend's couches. A hard life, but simple: two guitars, four harmonicas, and a suitcase. But the details don't really matter. It's all about the music; keeping the dying ghosts of the old masters alive with love, a couple of finger picks, and an old beat-up guitar. Paul has created a style which is very much his own combining his interpretations of the music of Blind Lemon Jefferson, Robert Johnson, Blind Willie McTell, Scrapper Blackwell and Blind Blake.

Published by Murphy Method (MB.21717DVD). (Formerly titled Basic Bluegrass Runs on Guitar Volume 1) Tired of just strumming the guitar? Wish you could add a little variety to your ryhthm playing? These runs will do it! Each run is explained note-by-note in Murphy's easy-to-learn style. She also shows you how these runs fit into simple three-chord bluegrass songs. Most of the runs are taught in the key of G, but we also introduce the runs in the key of C. In addition, we show you how to make the F chord and do the "rocking bass." These are basic, professional-grade runs that all good bluegrass rhythm players use. Yet, the are explained so clearly that even beginning guitar players can use them. This video is a direct follow-up to our Beginning Guitar DVD. If you can make G, C, and D, and play a few songs using these chords, you can learn these runs. Also for folks who have been playing a while but don't yet do any runs. A great way to take your basic strumming rhythm to the next level.
