For five players. Who can resist a Gershwin tune! "Fascinating Rhythm" "swings" here in a jazz/pop style. The arrangement utilizes unique percussion sounds (i.e., brushes on tuned timpani, mallet handles on drums and keyboard bars) to create unusual colors. A percussion quintet with two keyboard parts provided. Instrumentation: bells, xylophone, marimba, 3 woodblocks, triangle, 3 tom-toms, bass drum, 3 timpani.

Instruments: Bass Guitar, Percussion, Timpani, Drums, Bells, Triangle, Guitar
For four players. The opening "fanfare" gives way to a hard-driving groove that cooks to the end! Each player has a written solo to allow them all to shine. This piece is a must for contest or festival! Instrumentation: bongos and china cymbal, congas and china cymbal, tom toms and china cymbal, bass drum and china cymbal.

Instruments: Bass Guitar, Percussion, Cymbal, Guitar
For four players. A quartet using the standard percussion battery, this work explores the often-overlooked expressive qualities of percussion instruments. A number of unique but easy-to-learn techniques give the players a variety of new sounds to explore, and the challenge of playing this quiet and haunting piece will bring a new understanding of their instruments. This is a great piece for "in-between" the hard-driving works. Instrumentation: Player 1: snare drum, low tom-tom, chimes; Player 2: tam-tam, suspended cymbal, sizzle cymbal, sleigh bells, 3 temple blocks or 3 mounted woodblocks; Player 3: bass drum, maracas; Player 4: 3 timpani, large suspended cymbal.

Instruments: Bass Guitar, Percussion, Timpani, Snare Drum, Bells, Cymbal, Guitar, Drums
Based on the elements of traditional African music, Nyasa of Tanzania is a fun, polyrhythmic piece that is easy enough for an Orff ensemble to perform. The rhythms sound more complicated than they actually are and are easily teachable through rote. There is also opportunity for students to improvise in a call-response section. Although it is composed to use some traditional African instruments, it is possible to substitute standard percussion instruments where needed (conga or bongo for djembe, tom tom for barrel drum, bass drum for long drum, and maraca for shekere).
$19.49
