Here are two suites Debussy composed specifically for piano four hands, Petite Suite and Six Épigraphes Antiques, plus Ravel's arrangement for four hands of Debussy's Prélude à l'Après-midi d'un Faune and a piano four hands version of Prélude, Cortège and Air de Danse from L'Enfant Prodigue. These works range widely in mood, displaying both the brilliant pianism at the heart of Debussy's musical imagery and the composer's affinity for the unexpected. Reprinted from authoritative French editions, these works display innovative musical qualities that will both delight and challenge pianists. Reprint of authoritative French editions.

Like his predecessor Chopin, Debussy discovered new possibilities and refinements in the art of playing and composing for the piano. His compositions and transcriptions for piano four hands are among his most inventive and interesting works. This volume contains Marche Ecossaise, written specifically for piano four hands, and the composer's transcription for four hands of La Mer. These works display both the brilliant pianism at the heart of Debussy's musical imagery and the composer's affinity for the unexpected — a quality that allowed many of his compositions to unfold like highly sophisticated improvisations. Reprinted here from authoritative French editions, they will challenge and delight pianists with their unique qualities. Republication of the Durand et Cie. and Jean Jobert, Paris, n.d. editions.

This is the first single-volume publication of both the out-of-print original and revised versions of Krazy Kat, a unique "jazz pantomime" for piano. Based on George Herriman's hugely influential newspaper comic strip that chronicled the adventures of a lovelorn feline, this comic production represents a landmark in American music. The seldom-staged work debuted in 1922 at New York City's Town Hall, and a 1940 revival employed the revised edition. John Alden Carpenter's score abounds in lyric warmth, harmonic charm, and rhythmic vitality. He created this unusual theatrical work for a ballet company headed by a former Ballets Russes performer. Cartoonist Herriman designed the production's scenery and costumes, and he drew a series of madcap illustrations that are reproduced in this edition. Jazz lovers, collectors of rare music, and intermediate- to advanced-level pianists will want a copy of this facsimile publication, which features the composer's original Program Notes and an illuminating Introduction. Reprint of the George Schirmer, Inc., 1922 and 1948 editions.
