Fantasie a Tre Voci - Score by Giovanni Bassano (1558-1617). For Lyra Viol, Tenor Viol, and Bass Viol; or 3 Violins; or SAT Recorders. String Trios, Recorder Trios. Italian Instrumental Music of the Renaissance. Score. Published by London Pro Musica (MM.LPMIM11). Giovanni Bassano (c.1558 - c.1617) was an Italian Venetian School composer and cornettist of the late Renaissance and early Baroque eras. He was a key figure in the development of the instrumental ensemble at St. Mark's basilica, and left a detailed book on instrumental ornamentation, which is a rich resource for research in contemporary performance practice. It is not known if he was related to Anthony Bassano a member of a well-known Venetian family of musicians. These pieces are suitable for any relatively quiet instruments, such as the violin famil, viols and recorders. About Italian Instrumental Music of the Renaissance These pieces are primarily for 2 or 3 instruments. Playable on recorders, viols - and some on crumhorns. Primarily available with just score - although later editions include parts.

2 Fugues - Score by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). For SATB recorders or String Quartet (2 Violins, Viola, and Cello). Recorder Quartets, String Quartets, Quintets etc. 3 - Moderate. Score. Published by Moeck Verlag (MM.MK00160). Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750) was a prolific German composer and organist whose sacred and secular works for choir, orchestra and solo instruments drew together almost all of the strands of the baroque style and brought it to its ultimate maturity. His forceful suavity and vast output have earned him wide acknowledgment as one of the greatest composers in the Western tonal tradition. For music lovers who have no keyboard instrument there are few opportunities of playing Bach fugues. It is hoped that the present edition will open up the way to Bachs polyphonic art for players of stringed instruments and recorders. From amidst the wealth of Bachs fugues we have selected two easy fugues from the "Eight Small Preludes and Fugues" for organ, compositions whose musical structure is relatively simple and which impose no special technical demands on the performer.

Rokoko - Duets: 3 Sonatas - Score and parts by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier. For 2 cellos. String Duets. Score and Parts. Published by Moeck Verlag (MM.MK01039). The present duets are conceived entirely in the idiom of the French Rococo. This music was not intended for a large public but designed rather to be played for the pleasure of the performer or a quite small group of listeners. Although the pieces are entitled ",Senate"they appertain more to the Suite in their formal construction. Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, who was born in Perpignan, went to Paris when he was still quite young. He probably owed a good deal of his melodic wealth to the folk music of his native Pyrenees and also his fondness for dance movements. For Boismortier the Paris of the years between 1720 and 1740 was just the right atmosphere that was only too receptive to rural music and such rustic instruments as the flute, oboe, bagpipes and hurdy-gurdy. Amiable and entertaining by nature, he was a welcome guest in Parisian society. Two 17 page scores. Contents: -Sonata, C Major, op. 14, No. 6 -Sonata D Minor, op. 14, No. 3 Sonata, E Minor, op. 40, No. 3.
