This is a dramatic arrangement of the Navy Hymn, although the hymn tune, MELITA, is sung with the text "My hope is built on nothing less" in some denominations. Two majestic verses lead to a quiet, ethereal middle section based on ST. ANNE. The arrangement uses echo effect, LV, and Sk to build an exciting conclusion as the bells play a series of triplets, sounding more difficult than they really are!

This charming musical combines an old Christmas folk story with new music that reminds us of the true meaning of giving. The musical tells the story of a church that had the most amazing chime of bells in its great ivory tower. According to a legend, on Christmas Eve, all the townspeople would bring gifts for the Christ Child. When a very special gift had been given, the chimes would ring sending forth the sweetest sound anyone had ever heard. Unfortunately, the bells had been silent for many years. Things began to change, however, when a young girl named Sara and her little brother journey to the church hoping to hear the chimes ring. Appropriate for children's choirs plus the addition of youth and/or adult if desired. Numerous non-singing roles also allow for maximum participation. Performance time: approximately 30 minutes.

A Christmas Finale is a happy upbeat closing selection for a holiday concert. The introduction juxtaposes Deck the Halls with Good King Wenceslas and leads up to a canonic treatment of Jingle bells. An abrupt swing style at the same tempo introduces Up On The House Top. (The arranger envisioned Santa trying to sneak down the chimney, much like the Pink Panther sneaks around attics installing insulation.) A stately rendition of O Christmas Tree contrasts woodwind and brass choirs, and an unusual march treatment of We Wish You a Merry Christmas closes the medley.

A collection of four joyful songs exploring the 'lighter' side of the Christmas. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas was made famous by the 1944 film Meet Me in St. Louis, where it was sung by Judy Garland and this is complemented with O Christmas Tree, one of the most popular German traditional carols, and the original Another Christmas composed by series editor Alex L'Estrange and fellow composer Peter Gritton. A Christmas collection would not be complete without Jingle Bells, given a boisterous treatment here, although actually the song isn't about Christmas at all - it's about the cutter drag races in Boston, where young men would race sleighs to impress the girls! Choral Basics is a recently created series that offers straightforward and rewarding repertoire for the beginner choir. Perfect for singers of all ages, the series offers simple 3-part choral arrangements for soprano, alto and a combined male voice part. Consultant editor Alex L'Estrange has brought together an array of repertoire including world music, spirituals, pop classics, show hits and original pieces. Carefully considered for the level, the arrangements pay particular attention to breathing, vocal ranges and technique whilst straightforward piano accompaniments support the vocal lines. The series offers great value for money, as each volume comprises a set of contrasting songs for easy programming.
