Sing now to God new songs of praise by Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767). Edited by Klaus Hofmann. Arranged by Klaus Hofmann. For Soli SATB, SATB Choir, 2 Violins, Viola, Basso continuo. Stuttgart Urtext Edition. German title: Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied. Cantatas, Psalms, German, Easter and Eastertide, Psalms. Complete orchestral parts. Language: German/English. Duration 20 minutes. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3912419). With Language: German/English. Cantatas, Psalms, German, Easter and Eastertide, Psalms. This nine-movement psalm composition allows all the participants to shine, in some cases with rich virtuosity: the string ensemble in the opening "Sonata"; the solo singers and choir in the chaconne-like first vocal movement, "Singet dem Herrn"; also the solo singers in two duets (alto + tenor, soprano + alto), an alto solo and an extensive bass solo; the choir in two further movements-a fugue on the 6th verse of the psalm "Es stehet herrlich und prachtig fur ihm" and the concluding movement in two sections, "Betet an den Herrn," which ends with a brilliant fugue on "Es furchte ihn alle Welt." This is a festive sacred work suitable for many occasions (including weekday Epiphany psalm services and for services on the 4th Sunday after Easter). The present edition presents the source material in revides form, transcribed into current editorial and performance usage.

Now thank we all our God (Cantate for harvest festivals (Tempore Messis) and other festivals of thanksgiving). By Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767). Edited by Jurgen Neubacher. For Soli SATB, SATB Choir, Flute (Recorder), 2 Trumpets, Timpani, 2 Violins, Viola, Basso continuo. Stuttgart Urtext Edition. German title: Nun danket alle Gott. Cantatas, Praise and thanks. Complete orchestral parts. Language: German/English. Duration 15 minutes. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3910919). With Language: German/English. Cantatas, Praise and thanks. Telemann's cantata cannot be assigned to any of the composer's known annual cycles of cantatas. The given designation "Tempore Messis", which appears in the title in the sole surviving source, suggests it was composed on the occasion of a harvest thanksgiving festival, but the neutrality of the text means that other occasions for performance such as New Year, Reformation Day, church or organ consecrations and weddings are conceivable.

Terra tremuit (Offertory for the Easter Sunday). By Johann Ernst Eberlin (1702-1762). Edited by Armin Kircher. Arranged by Paul Horn. For Soli SATB, SATB Choir, 2 Clarinos/Trumpets, Timpani, [3 Trombones], 2 Violins, Basso continuo. Sacred music from Salzburg. German title: Terra tremuit/Offertorium Ostersonnt. Easter and Eastertide;. Complete orchestral parts. Language: Latin. Duration 4 minutes. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2711019). With Language: Latin. Easter and Eastertide;. Eberlin's programmatic setting of the offertory "Terra tremuit" was written for the festive liturgy of Easter Sunday at Salzburg Cathedral, which in the 17th and 18th centuries was a center of the cultivation of the polyphonic offertory. Verses 9 and 10 of Psalm 76 (Vulgata 75), with their vivid description of the earth trembling and falling silent are Eberlin's basis for the offertory. Eberlin depicts the earthquake by means of a written-out tremolo of the strings, and by staccato singing of the syllables of the word "tremuit". The Resurrection is depicted musically by ascending figures at the words "dum resurgere". An Alleluia concludes the work.
