Mulligan's writing for the Kenton Band was fairly minimal in quantity but extraordinary in quality. He had a profound effect on the band and the writers to follow him. Although it was never recorded commercially by the band, it was played a great deal in live performances throughout the country and is on a number of "transcription" recordings. It "cooks" from beginning to end, and features solo space for trumpet and tenor sax, and one of those "patented" Holman ensemble shout choruses that just swings like crazy! 5-5-5-3.
