(10 Brass) (Level 5) Commissioned by the Weatherford College jazz band, Weatherford, TX, and commemorating the UNT One O'Clock Lab Band's spring tour to the Reno Jazz Festival in 1994, this is a great Latin chart with a songo/salsa groove. It plays down easily and includes solos for trombone (or trumpet), tenor sax, drums, and optional Latin percussion. Easy, galloping, songo feel will have people dancing in the aisles if it's in their blood. Excellent opportunity for percussionists to stretch out on timbales or congas, but also works well with drumset only.

This exciting, up-tempo swinger was arranged especially for the 1992-93 Washington State University Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the Jazz Big Band and was performed at the '93 IAJE Conference in San Antonio. Slow middle section showcases piano over sparse, new age changes, culminated by a dramatic lead trumpet line up to optional G#. Final section of chart is straight-ahead jazz featuring tenor with a strong ending. Very melodic and uplifting chart. 10 Brass.

Section 2 opens with a piano statement of theme 2 at slightly faster tempo. Tenor II featured over contemporary changes, culminated by tenor duo and final ensemble statement.
