Published by Schott Music (MM.OFB0152). The concerto here is the third of the "Six Concerts" It was originally in A major but has been transposed to C major. He was a contemporary of Johann Sebastian Bach, and friend of George Frideric Handel. While in the present day Bach is generally thought of as the greater composer, Telemann was widely renowned for his musical abilities during his lifetime. The Guinness Book of World Records lists Telemann as the most prolific composer of all time with more than 800 credited works. More recent study, for example the thematic catalogues of his works published in the 1980s and 1990s, has shown that Telemann actually composed over 3,000 compositions, many of which are now lost. Published by Moeck Verlag (MM.MK01040). Johann Friedrich Fasch, at present Bandmaster to his Serene Highness the Prince of Anhalt in Zerbst, was born in the year 1688 on the 15th April in Buttelstaedt, a little town between Weimar and Buttstaedt; he learnt the rudiments of music, especially in thorough bass, under the late Herr Kuhnau in Leipzig - he was a pupil of Herr Capellmeister Graupner in composition. In his student years in Leipzig he directed a Collegium Musicum for several years and after this was engaged for a number of years as clerk to the exchequer at the court of the Count of Reuss-Plauen in Gera; then he was town clerk in Graitz for nearly two years, and later he was employed by His Excellency Count Morzini in Prague and from there he was called to the above mentioned court (Joh. Gottfr. Walther, Musikalisches Lexikon, 1732). Joh. Friedrich Fasch died in Zerbst in 1758. 40 years later Joseph Haydn found similarly carefree employment as musical servant to the son of Count Morzin in Lukavec.

Suite in B Minor - Score and parts by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). For Flute and Piano. Miscellaneous Wind Music. Score and Parts. Published by Schott Music (MM.FTR0086). Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 O.S.- 1750 N.S.) was a prolific German composer and organist whose sacred and secular works for choir, orchestra and solo instruments drew together almost all of the strands of the baroque style and brought it to its ultimate maturity. Although he introduced no new musical forms, he enriched the prevailing German style with a robust and dazzling contrapuntal technique, a seemingly effortless control of harmonic and motivic organisation from the smallest to the largest scales, and the adaptation of rhythms and textures from abroad, particularly Italy and France.
