Sonata In F Major - Score and parts by Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725). For 3 Alto Recorders and Basso Continuo. Recorder with Keyboard or Continuo. 3 - Moderate. Score and Parts. Published by Moeck Verlag (MM.MK01036). Alessandro Scarlatti is considered the first great master of the Neapolitan operatic school. He was born in Palermo in 1659 and is known to have studied in Rome from 1672. From 1680 to 1684 he was Court Conductor to the former Swedish Queen Christine who was spending the evening of her life in Rome. Probably Arcangelo Corelli had an important influence on the 23 year old conductor at this period. Corelli was leader of the band which Scarlatti conducted. As early as 1679 Scarlatti had made his mark in Rome with his first opera "Gli equivoci nel sembiante" and further performances took place in Bologna, Vienna and Ravenna. He moved to Naple sprobably in 1684, where he attained considerable renown as band-master and Director of the Conservatoire and stayed there until 1702. From 1703 to 1707 he was in Rome and for a time in Venice. From 1708 he worked again in Naples, where he died on October 24, 1725. Scarlatti gave the chamber music repertory about 600 solo cantatas and also sonatas for various instruments with thorough bass, including the present work. In his old age he also turned his attention to keyboard music and composed numerous Toccatas which prepared the way for the works of his son Domenico Scarlatti. His style is merked by extended melodies and skilful composition at times reminiscent of J. S. Bach, Hasse, Quanta and Tartini were among his important pupils. 7 page score with parts.

Sonata in D Minor, Op 17, No 2 - Score and parts by Johann Christian Schickhardt (1680-1762). For Alto/Treble Recorder and Basso Continuo. Recorder with Keyboard or Continuo. 3 - Moderate. Score and Parts. Published by Moeck Verlag (MM.MK01081). Johann Christian Schickhardt (ca. 1685-1762). In the works of Johann Christian Schickhard the recorder, tlute, and oboe play a dominant role. In particular the composer was evidently familiar with the peculiarities and expressive possibilities of the recorder. Although the parts he wrote for the recorder occasionally have the characteristics of virtuosity, they are always playable and are never disagreeable to the ear.

Sonata No.4 in G Major (from Il Pastor Fido) - Score and parts by Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741). For Soprano/Descant Recorder and Basso Continuo. Recorder with Keyboard or Continuo. Score and Parts. Published by Pan Verlag (MM.PAN0876). Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (March 4, 1678, Venice - July 28, 1741, Vienna), nicknamed Il Prete Rosso, meaning "The Red Priest," was an Italian priest and baroque music composer. Most of his repertoire was rediscovered only in the first half of the 20th century in Turin and Genoa, and was published in the second half. Vivaldis music is innovative, breaking a consolidated tradition in schemes; he gave brightness to the formal and the rhythmic structure of the concerto, repeatedly looking for harmonic contrasts, and invented innovative melodies and themes. Moreover, Vivaldi was able to compose non-academic music, particularly meant to be appreciated by the wide public, and not only by an intellectual minority. The joyful appearance of his music reveals in this regard a transmissible joy of composing. These are among the causes of the vast popularity of his music. This popularity soon made him famous also in countries like France, at the time very independent in its musical taste. Vivaldi is considered one of the composers who brought Baroque music (with its typical contrast among heavy sonorities) to evolve into a classical style. 17 page score with parts.
